effect of Working tax credit and child tax credit.

Post by shaad » Thu Jul 29, 2010 4:53 pm

I am applying for a settlement VISA for UK. I want to find out that my sponsor my wife is receiving working tax credit and child tax credit. She is not claiming housing benefits or any income support. Statement shows reasonable funds available. I am also submitting my financial statements from my end. Does the working tax credit affect my case.
Also anyone who applied from Pakistan how much time does it takes for processing nowadays. I have heard it may take anywhere from 1 week to 16 weeks.

Will appreciate replies on this.
Thanks

You tell us nothing about your wife so it is impossible to answer your benefits question.

Is she British? If not, is she EEA? If not what is her UK immigration status?

My wife is a british national and I also have 2 children who are also british citizen by birth.

Wife is working full time but also received tax credit and child tax credit too.
Will this have any affect on my application?

If you have a read of the Claiming Benefits section of this Board you will see that she is totally OK to claim those benefits, and those claims will not be detrimental to your visa application.

Thanks John,

Also I have had 2 Traffic offences in last 8 years but i do not remember the dates. I know the last one was in 2009. I can write these offenses down in detail in the para. The offences were minor but received court notice to appear or plead guilty. I pleaded guilty and was only fined £60 which was paid then.

Does this have a major impact on my application?

Thanks
