Question about 28 days and proof of funds

Post by mia777 » Tue Jul 27, 2010 4:48 am

Greetings,

I am about to submit my application for a student visa to go to grad school in London. I've read through all the documents regarding the money but they are sort of confusing so I'd like to clarify what types of savings accounts are allowed.

My father is going to pay for my education. He told me he has savings accounts but they are money-market accounts which he draws from into a checking account. I've spoken to many other members of my family and they too said that they would never have $13,000 (what I believe I need to prove that my parent will pay for my maintenance). The course starts September 22, 2010.

My question is, do these funds need to be straight cash? If neither of my parents have had $13,000.00 in their accounts for twenty-eight days, what should I do? Should they transfer that from their money market savings account to their checking account immediately?

Any advice is greatly appreciated!
By the way, I am applying from the United States.

Thanks,
