VAF4A online application

Post by Maxy » Sun Aug 08, 2010 5:14 pm

Hello Everyone,

Right, I've just completed the online VAF4A form for my girlfriend in South Korea - all filled in and seemed fine. However, we then receive an email saying we need to take the VAF2 form to the application centre in Seoul. I'm very confused - we have definitely filled in the VAF4A but why then are we being told we need the VAF2? Could this perhaps be a glitch? Pretty stressed about all this; any ideas, please let me know.

Thank you,

Maxy

What visa have you applied?

VAF4A is for general visitors.

Hi Ali and thanks for your reply. We're applying for settlement visa; she wants to come over as my fiancee and marry here. Please don't tell me we've filled in the wrong visa form!

But for to be sure check on ukvisa.gov.uk web site.

Hang on...the wrong form? But she's my fiancee - she wants to come to the UK to marry me? VAF4A is the correct form, surely?

Just double checked and indeed VAF4A is right form.

May be they send a wrong email.Reply to this email address asking why I got this email. They would explain to you.

From what I have read around it seems that some consulates may have a generic email reply which might mention the wrong visa form name. As long as you are positive that you submitted the VAF4 form online I think you will be ok since you will also have to physically submit the same form to the embassy as well along with your other documents.

This type of email mistake from the consulate seems to be somewhat common in the US. Don't worry too much and do try emailing them just to double check but you should be ok.

Thank you for your help - panic (just about) over. I googled it and found that it's happened to other people so perhaps it is merely a glitch but it certainly gave me a fright. I will email them though just to make sure.

Irrespective of what someone says on this post ,VAF4A is the correct form that you need for a settlement application for your fiance
