advice about spouse visa needed

Post by dan5190 » Mon Aug 09, 2010 1:42 pm

hello my wife is about 2 months away from applying for her spouse visa and i am trying to find out if it will be ok for her mum to pay half the rent on a property until my wife gets a job? she will be our sponcer and has wrote a letter stating this.

i earn 1100 after tax and get paid every 4 weeks so after all the bills and help from rent by my mother inlaw i will have 550 left for me and my wife to live on will that be ok?

thanks for any advise you can offer. [/list]

You can live with family but you won't be able to accept financial contributions for your own accomodation. The ECO will consider it as 3rd party financial support which under current regulations in not allowed.
Only you can be your wife's Sponsor.
You need to have 102.95 remaining weekly after you have paid rent or mortgage, council tax and any loan/credit repayments.

You would need to show that the flat share has adequate accomodation..i.e no overcrowding.
If you're considering giving false information regarding your mother-in-law being resident is a property (when she isn't), you'll be heading for disaster.

no im not planning on giving any false information im just thinking of ways of getting my wife here i only get 1100 4 weekly after tax and a studio flat in london is atleast 600 so i wouldnt be able to support myself and wife after bills

was just thinking if were allowed to stay with family my mother inlaw can rent a place in her name cause she needs a place anyway so if she got a 2 bedroom place and said we can stay there with her and we will pay her rent.

One room in a house is sufficient for you. You can state that you will be living with mother in law untill such time you can afford yours
