EC for my wife

Post by mubbu » Wed Mar 29, 2006 6:55 am

Hi All,

I have had got only mine EC stamped on Feb-23, and I got the job in UK in March.
Now I want to apply EC for my wife and kid, but they won't be travelling with me as of now...they would join me later..

Can you Please confirm the below docs for submission for EC:
As per my understanding :
>My HSMP approval letter
>My Passport
>My wife Passport + VAF1 form
>My kid Passport +VAF1 form
>My job Offer letter.
>Accomodation ( I will book 1bed hotel for 7days...is that enough?)
>My bank balance

Let me know what else i need to submit for EC?

Thanks in advance.

Mubbu,

There is a VAF-2006 form in addition to VAF-1 required for child. This is something new.

Another thing, R u in UK right now ? How will you show your Passport if u r in UK. I think u r referring copies of ur passport.

Hi Sigul,

currently I am still in India.
But if I am in UK, then whether the copy of my passport visa (EC) would suffice for their EC's?

I believe that your Passport copies should suffice. You can call the respective VFS number and get details from them.

Also let me know as whether you visited UK and came back after getting a job offer or whether you got a job offer from India itself.

Why you did not applied for EC for your family along with your EC.

Hi Sigul,

I got the job offer right sitting here in India.

I didn't applied for my families EC as I was not sure of going to UK.

but since got a permanent job in hand, I changed up my mind.

If that is the case, getting your wife VISA will not be a big deal. Just apply with copy of your offer, get some accomodation for about one week in the city where u r going, copy of your Passport and your HSMP VISA page and your approval letter page.

I believe copies will suffice , still you can confirm this with your nearest VFS office by calling them.
