Hi,
I am on a Student VISA and I also have a Tier 2 dependent VISA. But my current status is on Student VISA. I am planning to go to Europe on a trip. Can I re-enter UK on Dependent VISA instead of the Student VISA?
Thanks!

Before you travel, check with UKBA if your Tier 2 dependent visa is still valid.

How do I check with UKBA - phone/mail/in person what is the option? My passport does not show it's invalid?
If it is valid then can I re-enter UK from Europe on Dependant VISA?
Thanks!

Why did you get a student visa and not remained as a Tier 2 dependent?

Thanks all!
My husband was not sure that his project will last till my course is over. We were not sure that if he leaves UK, then I can stay back on dependent visa in UK or not to complete my studies. So got the Student visa as well.
Thanks!

I don't think you can have two visas at the same time. One must be cancelled. Call UKBA, you can search the number on the internet.

The latest one you received should be your current one. All previous visas would have been cancelled on this one being issued. It might not show on your passport but it would show on UKBA databases

Thanks to all for helping me out.
My husband's project ends after my student visa expires and I do not want to process my PSW. So want to stay back till my dependant visa expires.
I was wondering I have seen people having first business visa and then their WP done. After working in WP they again come back on their old biz visa as their WP expires.
Thanks!

Apparently, it used to be
possible. Unfortunately, they have since removed the instructions for it; the policy may have changed?

Can I have more than one visa? wrote:It is not possible to hold more than one visa or entry clearance. If your circumstances change you should always inform the Home Office before you leave the UK so that your permission to stay can be curtailed. Once your permission to stay has been curtailed you will be able to apply for a new visa overseas.
