Police clearance certificate Indian high commission London

Post by wp2tier1 » Fri Mar 06, 2009 5:55 pm

Hi,

I have seen the discussion on this topic so far.The information is very useful. But since the posts were somewhat old I am not sure if the info is still valid.

Can anyone please clarify following doubts:

I need PCC for myself and my wife for canadian immigration.

1.Do we both need to go to high commission personally or I can take my wife's form and passport to high commission and apply for myself and my wife. Can I apply for PCC on my wife's behalf. Just trying to avoid to have her also stand in queue for so long and save on travel cost.

2.Does it still take 45 days? If so do they give any receipt which states when we can go back to collect? Do they give any kind of evidence that we have applied and we can use that to collect?

3.Do they keep the passport for 45 days or like mentioned in earlier discussion, we just need to take it again on day of collection?

4. We need form, original passport, copies of front and back pages of passports and fees , is there anything else that we need to take along?

I need another PCC from UK police which comes in 2 days with premium fee of £70. Does anyone applying for canada know if we need both UK and indian PCC??

Thanks

You need a police certificate from every place where you have lived for six months or more. So yes, you need both UK and Indian police reports, if you have lived in both places (and anywhere else) for more than six months.

Sorry, I don't know the answers to your other questions.
