FLR(m) - Success at Crydon 13 Aug

Post by gd_chandrasekar » Sat Aug 14, 2010 9:01 am

Hi

I processed FLR(m) for my visa, she is Tier 1 dependent. She did not complete 2 years in UK so I need to process this visa after I got my PR the same day morning appointment.

Check my PR processing details linke here. http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=62079

Actually there is no time line to process the FLR(m) for my kind of scenario. Tier 1 was valid till Jan 2013. She would be eligible for PR next year Nov. Since I got my PR now, the Tier 1 depedent visa is not valid any more. So when I called UKBA office they said i need to process FLR(m) asap but no timelines he gave.

To avoid issue later when I process PR for my wife and also she is going on holidays now, when she returns I dont want her to be stopped in the airport saying her visa is not valid.

So I processed FLR(m) on the same day as mine. I got my appointment morning slopt and got her appoint afternoon slot, hoping I will get my PR approved.

I submitted
  • last 3 months payslip and bank statements
    my passport and her passport
2 photos of my wife and 1 photo of mine
    marriage certificate
there are 3 different stages for this visa
  • Biometric registration
biometric - actual fingeprints and photo they will take
case consideration. During this process they will ask all the documents.
It seems for thse kind of applications they dont stamp visa but issue a card which needs to be shown at the immirgration. She got approved for 2 years and the card would be sent to home in weeks time.

it was simple and easy.

FLR(M)

Post by nishsil » Sun Aug 15, 2010 7:21 am

Hi,

I need your advise please if you dont mind. I'm planning to apply for my wife's FLR(M) in person.

which PEO did you go to? And did they ask for any more documents like bills and etc regarding the wife's FLR(M) application? And what sort of questions did they ask?

Thanks for your time and advise...

Hi Nishan

I went to crydon, do you have PR? did you check that FLR(m) is the right application? how did she enter to UK? i guess as dependent, if so the applicatoin process would be simple

take latest last 3 month salary slips and their bank statements,
  • your passport with PR stamping
    marriage certificate
just in case keep these as well, with both names on it
  • rental agreement
    council tax and utility bill

Hi,

I got my PR middle of last July under the 10 year long residency category. My wife entered UK under tier 1 Post study Worker dependent category last January. What questions did they ask regarding the FLR(M) application and how long did it take?

Thanks again...

my wife did not complete 2 years yet but current Tier 1 depedant visa is valid till jan 2013. Since I got PR the tier 1 dependent is not valid, so need to change it to FLR(m) asap. it took 3 hrs to process that mainly due to biometric was delayed due to problems in server.

How much did they charge for your wife's FLR(M)?

So, you mean to say, if you have changed your status from Tier 1 to ILR and if your wife hasn't completed 2 years yet then she would get some sort of temporary card which she need to show at the immigration.

It is not a temporary card but a proper leave to remain (visa) issued as an identity card (instead of a stamp in the passport). See Applying as a husband, wife or civil partner from inside the UK.
