Wanting to move to the UK to be with my husband

Post by pace88 » Thu Aug 19, 2010 7:23 pm

Hello everyone! I am new to this site and so happy that I found it.
I have a few questions and hope that some one out there can help me with the answers :D

In a couple weeks my finance will be here in the states and we plan on getting married. He will only be staying for aprox. 10 days or so and then going back home to New Castle. We have both decided that it would be best if I came to live with him in the UK. There are many different factors for this decision, immigration to the US is a lengthly process and there just isn't any work for him here either, he works off shore on oil rigs.

So I guess my questions are the following:
1. What do I need to do to get a visa to come and live with my husband in the UK?
2. I have a son that is 5 and he will be immigrating with me as well, how do I handle that?
3. Fees for the visa's?

I appreciate any answers that anyone can give me! Thank you in advance for your responses!!

1. Proof he can afford to keep u and ur son, and have £150 or so left over a week after all necessary bills and that the accomodation is enough for all of you - all with proof.

2. He'll need a visa too.

3. Lost track of the ever-rising cost but I think it's about £600 each.

Thank you so much for your quick response!

Since my husband is the step father will I need any type of documents from his biological father in order for my son to come and live in the UK with me?

Regards

Yes, the fathers permission and a Court Order.
