Hello all, work reference letter proof please!

Post by voonk0 » Fri Mar 24, 2006 11:13 am

To Whom It May Concern:

This reference letter is provided at the request of xxx. It is my understanding that xxx is applying for the Highly Skilled Migrants Permit (HSMP). The information contained in this letter is confidential and should be treated as such. It should not be disclosed to anyone within your organization who would not be involved in the decision regarding this individual. Moreover, it should not be disclosed to anyone outside of your organization without the written consent of xxx.

xxx was employed in xxx from the 10th of January 2004 to the 26th of August 2005 and held the position of Data Analyst in the Business Intelligence team as part of the xxx business group. At this point in time, xxx had not completed his degree which required a period of one semester/13 weeks of co-operative education between his university xxx, xxx and xxx. We were happy to accommodate this arrangement even though his role was at a graduate level and required a degree because we were confident in his abilities.

For a period of one semester, xxx worked full-time as well as attending night classes and completed both to the complete satisfaction of both his university and xxx.

Roles and Responsibilities of the Data Analyst position:

• Extracting raw consumer data from the xxx database using My SQL or Microsoft Access.
• Importing the data into Microsoft excel, changing the data into a variety of understandable formats including graphs, pivot tables and diagrams
• Presented in-depth analysis for clients based on findings, including conclusions on how best to achieve new sales targets and areas for improvement.
• Prepared and presented monthly and annual reports for clients, in particular statistics on advertisements.
• Prepared customised help documentation and provided technical support for clients new to the xxx online tracking system.

In total, xxx fulfilled his role in xxx for a period of 1 year and 7 months. Although a cheerful person, xxx mainly worked alone and after a meeting between an account manager, the client and himself to fully understand what was needed, he could complete that job in its entirety to the satisfaction of all involved.

If you would like to discuss this further, please feel free to contact me.

Your work reference looks excellent. It summarises three main points duration, graduate level work, job and responsibilties.

However, it should be keep in mind that the caseworker will earn point in this category based on what they "BELIEVE". Indeed, this is rather subjective and what they believe not neccessarily correct.

Those people who work in the well known multinational companies will be very hard to get the job reference like that. However, although their job reference are simple but it will count a lot, as the case workers could easily contact the employer.

Many thanks for your input. I'll make sure my old boss is up to date and aware that I am applying for the HSMP.
