ILR Clock - Reset Confusion

Hi,

I am really confused. Please help me with my query.

I came to the UK on the 01st April 2004 and have been in this country legally working continuously. Initially came on a work permit and subsequently changed to Tier 1 visa.

Last year, when i applied for ILR, i was refused stating that, there was a gap in my visa for about 20 days, when i renewed my visa on the 21st september 2005. The original visa expired on the 23rd august 2005. Though i was with in the country at that time when i renewed my visa.


May i know, when my ILR clock will reset. is that 21st september 2005?.

I read in some of the other threads that the date of entry in to the UK is considered as the ILR clock start date. If so, what would be my ILR Clock reset date.

Really confused. Please help.

Though irrelevant (reset date), your clock was reset to zero on 23-Aug-05.
The counter started ticking again (from zero) on 21-Sep-05.

Did you make an application on 21-Sep-05 or was the leave granted to you on 21-Sep-05? If the latter, did you submit the application before 23-Aug-05 or after (date)?

Thanks for your quick response.

The leave was granted to me on the 21st september 2005, though i submitted my application in advance than 23-Aug-05, my then employer submitted it late on behalf of me and hence it went out of date.

Though i wrote to HO subsequently about this, but still the HO decision was final and hence i had to wait for another year.

Hopefully everything should go ok this time.
