Tier 1 general dependent stay outside the UK

Post by numb » Thu Sep 02, 2010 1:56 pm

Hi All
Please confirm how long dependents can stay outside the UK. I'm on Tier 1 General till 2012. will they or myself have any problem in extension or indefinite stay.
regards

As per current rule, you need to stay 5 years contineous for ILR and your dependent need to stay 2 yrs contineous in UK. Hope this helps.

thanks for the reply, i couldn't find any info on the website. please provide any web address regarding this info.
I won't be out from the UK but my dependents will be for around 6 months or so. our visa will go for an extension in 2012 for another two years.
Will this be ok with my application to send my dependents for 6 months.
regards

Absence(s) from the UK is not (yet) a qualifying criteria for Tier 1 extension, and therefore there is no published information on the subject. And no one can predict for you today what the rules will be in 2012 / 2015.

See also Points-based system, tier 1 settlement guidance and standard requirements for naturalisation for requirements under current rules.

thanks for your reply, it still didn't state any thing about the dependent. it only states about the main applicant which is also clear from so many documents that I (main applicant) can only stay outside not more than 90 days in a row/year.
any update on this issue will be appreciated.

sorry vinny i didn't get your q's, is this for me. my dependents want to go back home for more than 6 months and my q's was that "for how long Tier1 General dependent can stay outside the UK".
some of the documents state that the dependent only need to follow the 90 days in an year rule for the last two year not throughout the 5 years like mai applicant.
