Maximum cash GBP and travelles chq on travel to UK on tier-1

I am travelling uk on tier-1 this month.
1. I want to know that what is the max GBP I can take as cash.
2. Apart from that if I take travellers check than will it consider as a cash ? and what is a limit for that.
3. Where Can I get travellers check
