Separate Tier 2 Visas for Husband and Wife

Both my wife and I work for a company with a UK office. The UK office is sponsoring separate Tier 2 Visas for us - but we are unsure how to complete the application. Should we not include each other as a spouse on the application (so we don't have to pay dependant fees on each other)? Also, for the same reason, should only one of us list our 2 children on the application?

You will be applying under tier2 (ICT).You can become ''Main applicant'' and you will use Tier2 main applicant form. Your wife and kids will apply as tier 2 dependents separate forms for each of them. This way you can save money. On dependent visa your wife will be allowed to work full time.

Hi,

I have heard that, though dependents of Tier 2 Intra Company Transfer visa holder allowed to do a job in UK legally but they are on least priority when it comes to recruiter/consultant.
Even i have heard that, they face problem in the first screening of their CV due to their visa status. Job search wont be easy with a Tier2 dependant as Intra Company TIER2 is risky for the recruiters; so they would probably not get a good ranking in recruiters preference list.

Is it really true?

Since I am dependent of Tier 2 ICT and my wife is travelling to UK for long term assignment. I am also working as IT S/W engineer with 6 yrs of experience but finds risky if dont end up job in UK due to this visa status.

Please guide me on this if I would take this risk.

Well I don't think so.......
as long as you have permission to stay and work, it doesn't matter on which type of visa u are on. I have not met anyone who faced the problems u just described, however i am not immigration specialist but i do know that employers need a proof of right to work with reasonable time (2 years or more) it does not matter what kind of visa u have. I work in a big Hospital and i know some midwives and nurses who have dependent visas and they didn't have any problem.

But if u are still worried, then ur wife can also apply for tier 2 main applicant and ur child can be dependent of either u or ur wife.

I would suggest to wait for further replies from more experienced members.
