New English Test

Post by AzimScot » Mon Sep 06, 2010 3:58 pm

I am going to apply for ILR in September however I need to know if I will be exempt for the new english test I believe will be introducted in November this year. My spouse already has passed a life in the uk test and has completed a 2 year visa.

Yes you are exempt. Life in the UK or ESOL is all you need. The new English test is for spouses that are applying for leave to enter.

And also those switching (i.e. - applying for leave to remain) as spouse / partner of a British citizen or someone settled here or extending their stay (leave to remain) under the same category.
