Spouse Visa - Settlement

Post by denver2k » Sun Sep 12, 2010 2:10 am

Hi,

I have Indefinite Leave to remain and getting married in couple of months. My wife will be applying from Pakistan.

Do i need to provide last 6(or 3) months bank statements i.e. If i apply on 28 Oct 2010 , my last bank statements must be covering for dates 28 Sept or later ?

I have a confusion as one person told me bank statement should not be more than 1 month old and another guy said that it can be more than 1 month but not more than 3 months old.

Can someone please clarify regarding payslips, letter from employer and bills.

Also, is it mandatory to include husband's name in NIC and Passport ?

Thanks.

The bank statements need to be as recent as possible. 3 months mandatory. The latest should not be more than a month old.
I tell it like it is.

It's not, but ElenaW's advice is good.

A spouse visa is not a points-based application where you will automatically fail if you don't supply bank statements from a particular time period. But remember that you are trying to demonstrate that you have enough money available to you to support yourself and your spouse.

If your financial evidence stops some time before the application date, an ECO may not be satisfied that you fulfil that criteria at the date of the decision. They may ask themselves whether you are still receiving the income you claim, or whether your bank balance is still in the black.

It's wise to submit the most up-to-date evidence available to you: if you are between bank statements your bank will probably be able to print you an interim statement if you ask them.
