how much maintenance funds for Tier 1 General Dependent visa

Post by salmanelahi » Mon Sep 13, 2010 5:42 pm

Dear All,

I have tried to search through the forum but couldn't get a clear answer so I am posting here hoping if someone can guide me in the light of their experience.

CASE:
I am in UK since more than 12 months on Tier 1 General visa along with my wife on dependent visa. We recently had a baby girl. Now I want to apply for her dependent visa.

QUESTION:

Do I need to show only £533 as maintenance funds? OR
£800(myself)+£533 (baby)? OR
£800(myself)+£533(wife)+£533(baby)?

REASON:
This paragraph from the guidance document actually is creating confusion when I read other posts in the forum which suggests otherwise. I just wanted to be absolutely sure before applying as cannot afford to loose money and time due a refusal based on maintenance funds issue.
If a family member applies separately from the Tier 1 Migrant, there must still be enough funds 44. to support each member of the family. Therefore in the example above, if the family has a third child, the main applicant has been in the United Kingdom for two years and the family applies for leave to remain for the third child separately, they must provide evidence that they have an additional £533 in available funds.
Best regards,
Salman.

The key word is above is "additional". That said, a number of people have got approvals based on maintenance funds for only the dependant.

Thank you very much push. Yes that "additional" is the root of confusion... thanks a lot!
