Does being in the UK have to be entirely on Tier 1 visa ?

Main migrant in the UK since more than 12 months = 800 for self + 533 of each dependent.
Does being in the UK have to be entirely on Tier 1 visa ?

Or can it be a combination of others plus Tier1 ?

Being present in UK under any valid VISA category for more than 12 months would do.

Conversely, where is it mentioned "explicitly" that time spent in UK must be on Tier 1? If in doubt, always best to check with UKBA directly.
