worried abt ILR

could any one plz help me. I am on work permit 5years. started job on 15april 2008. i should be entitled for ILR in 2013. just worried if Borders, Citizenship and Immigration Act 2009 will affect me which will be effective in july 2011 underwhich you need to be here for 8 years! plz

Yes, if it is introduced as it is (without changes) before you become eligible for settlement.

The Borders, Citizenship and Immigration Act 2009 will probably be scrapped by the current government. However, they might introduce a new and more restrictive settlement regim. No one knows yet what is going to be.

Best to follow the UKBA website for news in the coming months.

hope we won't be affected as they had promised at that time ILR in 5 yrs. who know..
