Hello everyone,
My apologies if a similar question has been posted before - I did a search however I am after specific answers. And the Spanish embassy is having a siesta it seems..
I am an Australian citizen with a Czech/EU passport. I want to relocate to work in Spain for an extended period of time and eventually the UK to settle.
I believe that as an EU citizen I am able to work and live in these countries without a problem. (Spain is expected to drop the work restrictions this month) Please correct me if I'm wrong.
However, I would like my partner of 5 years to come and live/work with me. We have been together for such a long time, and are planning to marry within a few years - just not now, or for this reason. We have a lot of evidence to back up our relationship, including joint bills, accomodation, photos etc.
I am under the impression we will be able to settle in the UK as part of the unmarried partner/prove you've been together for two years scheme, but I am worried about Spain.
Ideally my partner would like to work as a windsurfing instructor at a resort for the summer months, and possibly longer, while I continue as a freelance journalist.
Can anyone tell me if Spain has a similar unmarried partners scheme?
Thanks in advance,
