British passport for new born baby in india for birtish citi

Post by sunnym » Sat Sep 25, 2010 2:15 am

Hai Sir,
I t would be a great help if you would help me with this matter.
We (myself and my husband) are British citizens by naturalisation at present. I am planniing to go to India for my first baby's birth. As we heard there are lots of issues to apply for a Britsh passport for our newborn baby.
We are planning to go on 6th Oct. What are the processes to go through to apply for British passport for our newborn? Is this possible if I deliver baby at India? Now we are in a situation whether to go or not due to this matter.
I would be very greatful if you could give us some guidance on this matter. Awaiting your earliset reply. Many thanks in advance
Manju

If born in India, baby will be British under section 2(1)(a).

May apply for a British passport.
