Marriage status

Post by Green Giant » Mon Sep 27, 2010 10:40 am

My wife has been granted Indefinate Leave to remain ,but before she got it she was on the IGS and Post Study work visa`s and when she did her forms for both IGS and Post Study Work visa she mentioned that she was single on the forms because i overstayed since 2001.The forms for Indefinate leave did not ask for her Marriage status

Now we are about to travel to Zimbabwe to sort out my visa ,and i was wondering if this might come up during our applications ,Do they check such things

It may, if you produce a marriage certificate that states your wedding date / wedding registration date during the period when your wife claimed (in her previous immigration applications) that she was single.

were you married when she said single or were you in a relationship? Because it's acceptable to put single when you're just dating. Unmarried partner is more so when you're in a relationship akin to marriage so single is okay to tick in a bf/gf situation.

If you were married, this can be seen as using deception and my guess is you would need an advisor/solicitor.
I tell it like it is.
