Please review my final prepr for Tier 1 Gen

Post by betogether » Wed Oct 06, 2010 11:46 am

Hello Experts
I am planning to apply for Tier 1 (General) Migrant very soon.
Before I really apply I would like to take your opinion that my application is in place or not.

I have gone through the guide lines, “filling forms for practiceâ€

Hope you know that you cannot use the uplift ratio for your earnings in India when physically present in Norway. You can only convert them into GBP without the uplift ratio. (The uplift ratio for Norway is 1)

Hi Aruni4470,

Thanks allot for your response and valuable point.

When I am filling the info in point calculator it automatically converts as India comes in Band D conuntry. For example if I have earned 4950 (350000 INR) GBP in period of 01-10-2009 to 30-04-2010.
I cant show any earning of that time in Norway as those were not shown in my salary slips.
I am bit confuse here what to do please suggest.

Thanks and Regards

Unfortunately, you cannot use the uplift ratio when in Norway. The points based calculator is just a tool and gives you the result according to what you have entered. Consider getting a letter from your employer for the earnings in Norway. Otherwise, it will be difficult situation. Wait for others to comment as well.

Page 20 of the Guidance Notes states:
Adjusting overseas earnings

131. To reflect differences in income levels across the world, the income level required to score points varies depending on where the applicant was working at the time he/she earned the money. We use a series of calculations (known as uplift ratios) to bring overseas salaries in line with their United Kingdom equivalents. The level of uplift we give depends on the average income in the country in which the earnings were made.

Hi Aruni/Push,

As expected its became useful to take your opinio.
I can see that if I am physically in Norway uplift will not be applied.

As a next question how should it look loike in calculator then? I have pasted both example below. I think the 2nd is right as per our discussion but please confirm:

1)
Country ! Tota Earn ! Exc Rt ! Earn in GBP ! SAL Equ
India (Band D) ! RR (INR) ! 0.01413 ! PP ! PP¤Uplift (5.3)
NORWAY (Band A) ! NN (NOK) ! 0.10786 ! PP ! PP¤Uplift (1)

2)
Country ! Tota Earn ! Exc Rt ! Earn in GBP ! SAL Equ
Norway (Band A) ! RR (INR) ! 0.01413 ! PP ! PP¤Uplift (1)
NORWAY (Band A) ! NN (NOK) ! 0.10786 ! PP ! PP¤Uplift (1)

It seems unfortunate for me because I think to get 40 points here I have to wait 1 more month with my application. Once I receive my salary of Oct Month I will again be getting 40 points.
It doesn't seems correct because I was earning in INR and paying taxes there buut not allowed to use uplift :(

I would still request you to please suggest if there is any other points to be mention.

Please suggest if anyone have any added points here.

Thanks allot for your responses and help.

regards

It is better to wait till you get enough points without using the uplift ratio. All the best!!

Hello Dear,

Would anyone be so kind by giving any added suggestion so that I can prepare accordingly?
Is my all other preperation in place to apply in Nov 1st Week?

Why I am asking you again because I am in Norway and I have to get things done from India which takes time.

Thanks allot for your help in advance.

Your other documentation seems fine to me. Regarding the laminated certificates, I had my marriage certificate laminated as well and had no problem so, it should be fine. In the self assessment form for for 4.5, you can put one line as you have continuous earnings without any break. In 4.9 give details (full contact details) of both the employers and of any other documents like bank statements etc. As far as the marriage photos are concerned get some group photos, if possible. All the best!!

Hi Aruni,

Thanks allot for your response. I am now prepared and waiting for next Month to apply.

I will be very pleased if you can answer 2 very small doubt.

1) I am getting the signature and stamp on the original bank statement (on bank's letter head). I hope that I am not over doing?
I hope its OK if not please suggest I can arrange another statement without signature and stamp.

2) I had asked other clarification in other post instead of writing here. I am sorry for that I did this because I was new to forum.
Can you please response for that here is the link:

Please suggest. I hope I am not troubling you.

Thanks allot for your help

Original Bank statements are those you receive in post. If you have got them then there is no need for stamp and sign. If you have got the printed in the branch on their letter head then get them stamped and signed.

Hi Aruni,

Thanks allot for response.

Yes I recieved it through post. But I have already get it stamped and signed from Bank. Is that OK or I should have not done this?
If its not OK, I still have time to ask Bank to provide me original statment again.
Please suggest what should be the best way.

Thanks allot Aruni :)
