I am coming to the UK on a student visa that my school is helping me to get. They tell me that my fiance must obtain a visa independently. An expeditor quoted me over $500USD to get this done.

My questions are these: What happens if I bring her in on a visitors visa and then she just stays until I leave in 11 months? Are there better ways to accomplish this? Can the US embassy give her a "partner of a student" visa at some point after she arrives? Will they deport her or could she just leave if she is found out?

It is hard for me to justify $500 for 5 additional months of stay. It is not like she will be working or using/abusing any of the other resources available.

What you are suggesting is a crime. Overstaying is a crime and lying to get in to the UK is a crime, presumably she would lie in answer to the usual question "how long do you intend to stay?".

The US embassy cannot give permission for people to live in the UK.

She cannot change from a visitor to your dependent in the UK.

They can deport her (called removal) if caught. She may even get a nice stay in a detention centre.

Wasn't implying that she would stay, saying that she might stay. If she wants to stay what can i do about getting her proper paperwork, visa, whatever or is it worth the hassle for another 5 months. What I was getting at is I don't want to pay an expeditor money now for something she might not do. What I was wondering about the embassy is would they get her the proper visa from there or would they make her go back to the US to get that done. but thanks for the response i guess.
