family members of new British Citizen

Post by CHANDRIAH » Thu Oct 07, 2010 12:53 am

Hi! I have become british citizen recently and obtained british passport. My wife and children (both under 10) are currently in India. Over the last two years they have been living in India. They were having a Dependant HSMP depedant VISA which got expired few weeks ago.

Now that I got british citizenship what type of VISA can I apply for them? Will it be possible to apply for ILR for wife and Children although they have not been living in this country except for few short trips only?

I was looking at the UKBA website and I think I can apply for dependant VISA again which i believe will be issued for 24 months but it looks very expensive, for three of them it would cost £ 2250.

I am thinking of applying for a multiple entry visit VISA, as its cheaper and the family are not willing to come here to llive in UK at least for next three years but would like to come here during school holidays etc for short trips.

please advice. many thanks.
