According to todays news fromhome office, this means we get to keep our passports while home office process our case?

I doubt that applicant's passport will be returned. If the UKBA do not have procession of it, then how are they going to endorse it with the ILR?

I was wondering that too, but the link says 'valuable documents will be returned', which to me, would mean my passport - maybe they have another definition! I'd be interested to find out.

Excerpt from Stockport SCS website:

Make certified copies of the applicant and dependant(s) passport, travel documents and supporting documents for enclosure with the application along with the original documents (the vignette will be inserted in passport(s) to show the appropriate grant of leave).
