Can Pension contribution be considered as previous earning?

Can Pension contribution be considered as previous earning?

Hello friends,

The policy guidance for tier 1 states following on page no. 19-20

“124. Unearned sources of income that we will not consider as previous earnings include: ………money paid to the applicant as a pensionâ€

If employee's contribution to pension fund comes out from his gross salary, then it is his income and therefore can be included.
