Uk residency through student visa...

Post by houtanian » Wed Oct 13, 2010 12:27 pm

Hi,
As far as I understood students who spent some ten years of studying in the UK can apply for permanent UK visa, is this true?

I studied for five years in the UK but then I applied for PSW and am on this visa at the moment (its been about a year and two months since I've got my PSW visa. Having said that I left the UK shortly after I obtained this visa, quite a waste I know). Now I wonder if I return and spend another five years under tire 4, would that also give me the benefit of claiming ten years of studying in the UK and apply for permanent residence (visa)?
Would the fact that I've switched to PSW (Tier 1) and now am going back to tier 4 harm my previous five years?

Thank you very much.
Houtan.

It would depend on how long you have been away from the UK.
