AS A CONTRACTOR earnings?

My frd is a contractor and he has only received 3 contracts payments from same company,but these 3 cover his earning criteria,so what documents he needs to show to get Tier Approval,also as its only 3 payments what extra documents he need to take with him except accountant letter.And did he needs to have self employment registration also with him?
Please advise on this.
