Tier 1 extension

Post by m5m109 » Fri Oct 15, 2010 3:09 pm

I have been UK for 5 years now, and in Tier 1 for 2 years, my visa needs to be extended next year, however I have a question on that.

If my extension of 2 years gets over before the the total duration of 5 years required for PR, by a month or two, what options do I have then? Do I

1. Be considered for PR, or
2. Be able to apply for another extension
3. Pack my bags just because I am missing a month?

Thanks

Apply for Tier 1 extension before your current leave expires.

Thanks for that, but for example, if my visa ends in May, and I apply in March 2011 ( 2 months before). Will I get my extension from May 2011 or from April 2011 (if my visa is processed in 1 month). If its the latter, then when it comes to April 2013, I would have completed 4 years and 11 months on Tier 1. On that date, can I still apply for PR or will I be denied one as I am missing one month?

Thanks again

PR is a term used in context of EU law. Under UK immigration laws one applies for ILR.

No one can predict for you today what the rules may be in 2013. So wait until then.
