ILR Scucess today at Croydon PEO

Post by xyz123 » Fri Oct 15, 2010 1:56 pm

hi

First of all thanks to members here who have helped me with my queries over last few months. today we managed to get our ILR.here is our experience:

We applied based on 3 years WP + 2 years tier 1, Same employer throughout. Been out of UK about 220 days on business trips plus paid vacation.

Appt time - 8.15, arrived at 7.45, straight to security queue, about 10 people in front of us. Was very quick

Then we went to a desk where they checked application, passport and KOL test certificate. she filled in a one page form and attached it to my SET (O) form. She did ask if i have last 5 years P60 to prove continuous employment. Answer was yes. All this took about 15 mins. She told that even though the appt is at 8.15 we wont be seen till 9 am so be patient.

Went to first floor payment. Made payment by credit card. no problems at all, it went straight through. I did inform my bank in advance. After payment we were told to wait on 1st floor. After 15 minutes they asked us to come to customer service desk and told few of us to go to second floor.

Our no was called at 9 am, we went to desk, the guy was very good and helpful. He asked for 3 months bank statements + payslips, KOL certificate, employer letter and P60s.

he went through everything in abt 10 mins and said "all 5 years through same employer - that's what we really look for". he glanced at the list of absences but made no comments. I also had employer letter confimring all absences out of UK.

He did not ask anything else at all. then he told us to wait for 30 mins while he does some checks. I offered him photocopies of documents submitted. He said it would be useful if i have it but not a problem if i dont. I gave him all photocopies.

he called us after 30 mins and said application is successful. it would be another 30 mins for passport to be stamped. he said if we want we can go out of building. we decided to stay instead.

Back to first floor and in 30 mins we had our passport back with stamped ILR.

worth mentioning that we were not asked if we wanted to know our scores in KOL test.

All process was not at all stressful and all staff were very helpful. if one has a genuine application then there is nothing to worry about at all. i was surprised he didnt even see our marraige certificate.

Congratulations!
I am not, and cannot, offer legal advice to particular people. I can only discuss general areas of immigration law.

People should always consider obtaining professional advice about their own particular circumstances.
