waiting for the call letter...?

Post by hmm » Mon Oct 25, 2010 10:06 am

Friend of mine's family visit visa appeal was allowed few weeks ago in the UK. Applied in chennai, India. He hasn't received the call letter or anything from the BHC so he called them last week first the person on the phone said he couldn't find anything on the system (he asked for the application reference number and full name) then he was advised to submit the determination letter and his passport to the VFS. But when he went to the VFS office in Chennai they send him back and asked to wait for them to get in touch.

What shoild he do? Have another go and hoping they'd take the determination and passport and issue the visa? or just wait for them to get in touch?
Different staff in VFS gives different advise. The 'track your application' on the VFS says 'the case is closed'. Doesn't the tracking service apply to appeal allowed cases?

I think it takes a few weeks if not months ( In Pak it takes on average 3- 4 months) to get the call letter.

I dont know why there is such a lengthy delay on such matters as before if you won your appeal you would get the visa stamped in 4 weeks.

I think you need to be a bit more patient, if not then worth contacting your MP in the UK to make enquiries on your behalf for the delay.
