Esol clarification for me and for my wife

Me and my wife(as dependent) came to UK in March 2005 on work permit. Then in Aug 2007, i got my HSMP for two years.

Then in August 2009, I got extension for another 3 yrs as Tier1 applicant.

I want to apply for PR in March 2010 . I beleive that i am eligible for Indefinite leave to remain.

Please advice if not.

Secondly, i saw the form today and it was asking proof of ESOL for me as well as for my wife.

Do we both need to take ESOL test for Englist language test or its only my wife who needs to take that test apart from Life in the UK Test.

I know that Life in UK Test is mandatory but what about this ESOL test.

Looking forward for your expert opinion.

You and your wife should be eligible for settlement (ILR, not PR) in March 2010.

As for you, you do not need to take the ESOL test. As for your wife, whether or not she needs to take the ESOL test depends on her English proficiency. See ESOL course in English with citizenship

My wife can easily speak and write English . Is it sufficient if she simply pass the Life in the UK Test? Will she still need to take the ESOL test ?

Then LITUK test (only) will do ... for both of you.
