Should my spouse apply for Tier 1 dependent or visitor visa?

Post by eyesonly-in » Wed Nov 03, 2010 5:18 pm

Hi,
I will be applying for a tier 1 visa in a couple of months (waiting for 90 days money-in-bank period). My wife plans to visit me intermittently while in UK (once a month for stretch of 2 weeks or so) but she cannot stay with me for the full period as she runs a business here in India.
Should she apply for tier 1 dependent visa or multiple entry visitor visa?

Regards

Dependant visa might be much easier as she might be refused visitors visa based on the fact that it could seem like she'd want to settle with you in the UK. Unless she can prove to them that she will only be visiting in which case the visitor visa might be the easier one...
