Tier 1 General - New Application - Outside of UK application

Post by miteshmcse » Wed Nov 17, 2010 7:17 am

Hi,

I want to apply for tier 1 general by this month end and in order to process that i need your guidance.

My Case is as follows:

1) my current age is 29 - This will grant me 20 points as per PBS calculator.
As a proof of that I have Passport.

2) I am Bachelor of commerce (B.COM) degree holder from Mumbai University - This will grant me 30 points as per PBS calculator.
As a proof of this I have my degree mark sheet and degree certificate from Mumbai University.

3) Income in last 12 months: This will grant me 35 points as per PBS calculator.
As a proof of that I have salary slip from the company where I worked and I will arrange for bank statement as well.

In last one year I change my job in the month of May 2010 and joined new company. From old company I didn’t have salary in May 2010 but got full n final settlement in next month June 2010. It includes my salary for the days I worked in may and also includes payment for my pending leaves in the company. I also withdraw PF and Gratuity from my old company.

4) English language - This grants 10 points as per PBS calculator.
As a proof of this I have my degree certificate for the degree and apart from that I also have IELTS academics certificate with score of 7 it was taken in Jan 2010.

5) Funds - This grants me 10 points as per PBS calculator.
I have maintained funds equal to 2800 GBP in Indian currency in my bank account from last more than 3 months.

That is all about my case and now following are the queries i have in order to apply for my visa.

1) Can I show full n final settlement, Gratuity withdrawal and PF withdrawal as my income in my application for Tier 1 General? Please advice on the same.

2) Do I need to get all my salary slips stamped and signed from my company as they are taken from online payroll system?

3) Does bank statement also need to be signed and stamped by bank? I have ordered bank statement from bank and those will be on standard physical copy format. If required i will have to get it stamped from bank.

4) For calculation of earnings - I am going for a period of 1st November 2009 to 31st Oct 2010 and in PBS I am taking the exchange rate as on 31st Oct 2010 for calculation. Is that is correct?

5) I will apply for visa in last week of November or in 1st week of December. In personal details form it asks for '' On which date you wish to travel to UK?" - I am willing to travel in approx first week of March 2011. Should I mention the same?

6) From 1st Nov 2009 to 31 Oct 2010 - I have worked for two companies.
1st Nov 2009 to 11th May 2010 - Capgemini
13th May 2010 to 31st Oct & Present – RBS Business Services

Taking above details in to consideration, In PBS appendix 1 form for tier 1 general,
how do I fill point 4.5 for start and end dates of the period for which I am claiming points on my previous earnings.
How do I fill points 4.6 for my employer details?

7) What exchange rate should i take in to consideration while calculation of our previous earnings and for maintenance of funds.

8) Do I also need to take an supporting reference letter from my employers in order to support my earnings. I am already getting my payslips stamped & signed from employer and also getting bank statements from bank.

9) I have IELTS Academics taken in Jan 2010 with Score of 7.0 apart from that; I have selected B.com in qualification, when I go to English language section of PBS calculator, if I select the option of qualification that was taught in English it directly selects the b.com from the qualification section. Does that mean that PBS recognises my degree as taught in English? Do i need to take an letter from University stating that my course was taken in English.

10) I am applying for the duration of 1st Nov 2009 to 31st Oct 2010. and i will apply for visa in 1st week of December. I hope that is OK. Please advice.

Kindly please advice on above queries in order for me to take my application forward.

Kind Regards,
Mitesh Vora.

1) Can I show full n final settlement, Gratuity withdrawal and PF withdrawal as my income in my application for Tier 1 General? Please advice on the same.PF means Pension Fund right? You cannot include that - I am not sure what Gratuity is.

2) Do I need to get all my salary slips stamped and signed from my company as they are taken from online payroll system?
Yes or you can ask them for a letter stating your net and gross salaries
3) Does bank statement also need to be signed and stamped by bank? I have ordered bank statement from bank and those will be on standard physical copy format. If required i will have to get it stamped from bank.
If they are on bank letterhead with logo on each page, then you don't need to do that.
4) For calculation of earnings - I am going for a period of 1st November 2009 to 31st Oct 2010 and in PBS I am taking the exchange rate as on 31st Oct 2010 for calculation. Is that is correct?
Correct
5) I will apply for visa in last week of November or in 1st week of December. In personal details form it asks for '' On which date you wish to travel to UK?" - I am willing to travel in approx first week of March 2011. Should I mention the same?
Choose a date which is not more than 90 days in advance as they might end up issuing you with a visa with immediate validity. Either way, they still have the perogative to do that, but you will be more likely to have less hassle if you choose the right date.
6) From 1st Nov 2009 to 31 Oct 2010 - I have worked for two companies.
1st Nov 2009 to 11th May 2010 - Capgemini
13th May 2010 to 31st Oct & Present – RBS Business Services

how do I fill point 4.5 for start and end dates of the period for which I am claiming points on my previous earnings.
How do I fill points 4.6 for my employer details?
As you have done above - 1 Nov to 11 May and 13 May to 31 Oct. Just fill in one employer per line.
7) What exchange rate should i take in to consideration while calculation of our previous earnings and for maintenance of funds.
Last day of the period you are using for your earnings. Eg. 31 Oct.
8) Do I also need to take an supporting reference letter from my employers in order to support my earnings. I am already getting my payslips stamped & signed from employer and also getting bank statements from bank.Should not be necessary, just make sure that you supply contact details for your employer if they want to verify anything.

If I underst
10) I am applying for the duration of 1st Nov 2009 to 31st Oct 2010. and i will apply for visa in 1st week of December. I hope that is OK. Please advice.
Fine
Kindly please advice on above queries in order for me to take my application forward.

Hi,

Many Thanks for your response.

1) So for point 4.5 i would show the time in both the companies separably that is 1st nov 2009 to 11th may 2010 and 13th may 2010 to 31st Oct 2010. That way i will consume two lines provided. I was worried as i was not sure of do i need to show 12 months in one line or i can show the breakup of that.

2) For point 4.5 i will show one company per line as advised.

3) Since am applying in 1st week DEC i will show the travel date as 1st Feb 2011.

4) PF (Provident fund) and Gratuity are more like savings so i don't think i can take that in to calculation. But can you please advise about Full n Final settlement. Since i left my previous company on 11th May I didn't got salary in May but got full n final settlement in June 2010.

5) They are not ready to give me letter with net an gross details but they ready to stamp and sign my pay slips so i am going for that. in letter they
are mentioning that the electronic payslips that i am submitting are authentic.

Let me know in case if you have any other advise.

Kind Regards,
Mitesh.

Everything seems fine then - but you cannot claim provident fund or gratuity, but you should be able to claim full and final settlement. As long as it was for work and not some sort of redundancy payment or something. I assume its just salary that they haven't yet paid you. Just make sure you have proof from two sources (e.g. letter or salary slip + bank statement).

Hi,

Full and Final settlement consist of my pay for 11days of May that i worked for and it also includes leave encasement payment in terms of my pending leaves in the company.

In terms of evidence i will have;

1) my salary slip duly signed and stamped from both the companies Capgemini and RBS Business services. I will also have an letter on company letter head stating that the salary slips that i am submitting for Visa application are authentic.

2) I will have bank statement from HDFC Bank (Capgemini salary) and Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS Business Salary) duly signed and stamped by respective banks.

Hope this all will help.

Kind Regards,
Mitesh.

Can you advise what to do for bank statement to support for earnings and maintenance fund?

1) For support of earnings i got bank statement from HDFC Bank (Capgemini Payroll) Royal Bank of Scotland ( RBS BS Payroll). Both the statement does contain Bank logo and its on normal bank stationary (Dot matrix print)

Do i need to get the same stamped and signed or do i need to take an letter from bank stating that statement provided by them is authentic and accurate.

2) What should i do for fund maintenance? Is the statement of last 4 months is enough?

Do we also need to take an reference letter from HDFC bank stating that i have minimum balance of 3 lacs in my account for last 4 months?

Since i am going for visa on 2nd dec 2010. When should i apply for my fund maintenance statement and reference letter? Can i take it now or it has to be with in 1 week of my application.

Please advice on the same at earliest as that will give me proper guidance.

Kind Regards,
Mitesh.
