ILR and criminal offences

Post by tabbycat » Thu Nov 18, 2010 9:11 am

Hello all,

I wonder if anyone had the following similar experience, when applying for ILR as a dependant family member:
My German hubbi has recently had a road accident and now being pressed criminal charges against him .
How would that affect my ILR application? We are quite worried about it now, it couldn’t have happened at a worse time (though there is never a ‘good’ time for such things), so every piece of advice is highly appreciated!

Many thanks!

Is your name included in these criminal charges? If not, then I can't see how it would affect your application.

At worst, you'd need to declare it in the 'notes' section, I would have thought, but only because he is named on your application (I presume you're applying based on the fact that you're a spouse of an EU citizen settled here?).

Wait for expert advice though :)

Lindsay
