I would include every page of your bank statement - it's not about how much you earn simply - it's about how much you have left.

You definately need to include the complete bank statement. Part statement won't be accepted.

You should be fine on the other documents.

FLR(M) is about two things:

1) Have you actually got married

Well - you're fine there - you've got your marriage certificate.

2) Can you support yourselves - and that breaks down into:

a) Finance
b) Accomodation

You've got accomodation ok. Finance *should* be ok (after all - if you proved it in August for the fiancee visa - and you're still in the same job ...) - but I would try and get those stamped copies of your bank statements.

I'm going to prompt you now - you should be keeping every single official document IN FULL with yours and your partner's names on (bank, utility, NHS, tax man, council, phone etc). You're going to need them for SET(M) in 2 years (assuming it's still that form then). It's going to be more difficult for you if you are living with your uncle because (presumably) utility bills etc are in his name. So get yourself added to the council tax etc.

Once you've done your FLR(M) application tomorrow and have it in your hands - have a read of the SET(M) form - it'll give you an idea of what they are after.

We did ours via post, with not a huge amount of documentation as I recall. Can't recall what we actually sent though. I have a feeling we followed the check list at the back of the form.

Got it back within 4 weeks (April 2008) - which was a real shock.

You have to ask yourself on each visa - what is the government looking for?
Example: a visitor visa they are looking for the fact you are a visitor, you are going to return and can support yourself while you're here.

In the case of FLR(M) following a fiancee visa they are looking to ensure you are legally married and can support yourselves without being a burden on the state.

Visas do create a lot of headaches and requirements - but once you understand what the Home Office is looking for and you meet the requirements (which apparently you do) - you just have to be able to prove it to them. Information and understanding are key - but that doesn't mean there's anything to be scared of (although - I understand - I was very scared at all our applications!)

Have a read through the policy on it - it's section 284 - yes - it's long and boring - but it's worth it.

Congratulations.

Now - get yourself a copy of the SET(M) form - and have a read of what you need to produce.

It's highly likely that things will change as time goes on though - so I would set yourself a calendar reminder somewhere each month to check the requirements.

I know from our SET(M) application - he was quite picky about the documents he wanted to see over the time period and the space between them (even going so far as to check with a supervisor) - but during the time we got FLR and applying for SET - the requirements changed dramatically on us (20 documents down to 6) - and things may well change again.

Better to get prepared now than rushing and panicing in 2 years time.
