EEA Family Permit... Now what?

Hi everyone... I recieved my passport today with my EEA Family permit.
My wife is a Slovak national and has already registered with the WRS.
I understand that the EEA FP is valid for 6 months.
Could someone please explain to me what my options are now regarding the residence documents/stamps, as i find the writeups on them a bit confusing.

Also would it be possible/beneficial for me to apply for a Spouse Permit once I am in the UK?
