ILR related qiestions

Hello all,
I have some questions regd my ILR application.
I got HSMP approval according to JR (pre Nov-06) and due for ILR in Nov 2011.

My questions are
1. How I have to count my days which I spent outside UK ? I came to UK in Sept 03 on student visa.

2.Do Home office consider joint account statement for ILR approval. My salary account is joint with my wife. Her salary goes in to her own account.

1. Absences in the qualifying residential period (i.e. - 5 years preceding the settlement application).
2. As long as you are named as (one of the) account holder(s), don't see why this may be a problem.
