Tax free income & HSMP ???

Post by quite eager » Wed May 03, 2006 7:40 pm

If a kind of income is declared tax free by a government, I hope it won't create any problems for an HSMP candidate who is otherwise eligible of earning some points on account of his salary and allowances.

In such a case the applicant cannot submit tax returns, but can provide salary slips, bank statement etc as proof of earning enough amount qualifying him for some points.

Would it be alright or tax-free income cannot be taken into account for hsmp purposes.

Would appreciate advice on the above.

Tax free income is acceptable. There are even guidelines about tax-free income in the HSMP documentation. You just need to prove that your gross income falls in one of the scoring categories for your country and your age group. I think you will just need to ensure that you submit at least 2 kinds of evidence supporting your income.

I am in the dark about the tax return issue. In my country, a tax return is submitted by myself or by my accountant to the govt. I state the amount that I earned and then send it to the govt. I dont understand how I could then send the tax return in my HSMP application. Could I send the statement of income from my employer. Its called an IRP5 document?
