Switching from Tier 2 to Tier 1

Post by ay » Sat Nov 27, 2010 6:55 am

I am confused as any other applicant migrating from Tier 2 to Tier 1 and I have traversed through those queries and replies on this forum and on internet.

My query was regarding uplifting the Indian salary. I've been working in UK since last 1 year and getting UK living expenses (GBP) + Indian salary (INR).

On internet I learned that I cannot uplift my Indian salary; however when I enter the Indian salary details in the UK home office point calculator website (http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/pointscalculator) for calculating the points for my income it automatically uplifts my Indian salary. Is there any problem with the points calculator? Or is it simply that I cannot uplift my Indian salary when physically working outside India?

The reason I am asking this is that one of my friend applying for extension in Tier 1 working in UK for last 1 year; the UK home office point calculator did not uplift his Indian salary?

Are the rules for salary uplift different for switching from Tier 2 to Tier 1 and extension of Tier 1?

Thanks

You cannot apply uplift ratio to any income earned / credited overseas whilst you were physically present and working in the UK.
