Submitted April application

Post by YV » Mon May 08, 2006 9:31 am

I understand the HSMP team are swarmed with applications on a daily basis and it takes time before a reference number is issued. However, my application has been received by the hsmp team (a week ago) but my credit card has not been charged. Do they charge credit cards on the day they receive the application packages? Should I give them a call to find out why my credit card has not been charged after a week of receiving my application package? And if yes, what number should I call?
I have been checking my credit card on a daily basis and nothing seem to have progressed. Can anyone advice or give suggestions to the above?
It is just making me anxious and frustrated as to why my credit card has not been charged when they have obviously received my stuff.
Thank you. :?

YV,

From what i've experienced there is a bit of a backup in the Home Office with processing credit cards. My application was recieved on 10 April, but my credit card wasn't charged until 13 April. Then it took another 11 days before i was assigned a reference number. All i can say is try not to stress. Keep calling and it will eventually get into the system. When i was waiting for my reference number they suggested that i keep calling on a daily basis to see if it was in the system yet.

Best wishes,
Alison
