UK Tier 1 Visa Queries

Post by sachin2k10 » Thu Dec 02, 2010 3:00 am

Hi Friends,

I am a new member at this forum and wish to apply Tier 1 visa from India. I have got a few queries and hence have come looking for an answer on this forum. Apologies in advance for asking these many questions in one go.

1. I am thinking of applying for a visa in March 2011 (coz that is the time when i will have my funds completed three months in bank account). Given the news about new policy of UK govt. to restrict tier 1 visas for only 1000 applicants, would I still stand a chance to get a visa?

2. How many bank accounts can I club for maintainance fund? The situation with me at present is as below:

In Bank A (in UK) : 1350 GBP - maintained for more than 3 months
In Bank B - NRO acc (in India) : Rs. 7000 - maintained for more than 3 months
In Bank B - NRE acc (in India) : Rs. 5000 - maintained for more than 3 months
In Bank C (in India) : Rs. 10000 - this was the least balance within the last 3 months period
In Bank D (In India): Rs. 1.13 lakh - for this I will have to maintain and wait for 3 months time i.e. till end of Feb 2011
One Fixed Deposit : Rs. 10000 - In joint name of myself and my wife. This is more than 3 months old.

Can I club all the above accounts for the purpose of mantainence fund?

1. Tier 1 (General) scheme will be closed in April 2011. Given that there is presently a cap of 600 Tier 1 visas per month (from outside the UK), it all depends how many applications are received for the remaining 2400 visas.

2. Use as many accounts as you wish to, no restriction.

These 1000 visas are not for Tier 1 (General) route. As mentioned above, Tier 1 (General) route of entry will close from April 2011.

From what I have been reading today, it sounds like applying IN March would be pointless. All the visas will likely be given on March 1st and closed within a few days after that and then no visas will be issued on April 1st.

Is that how it will work?

No visas will be issued from April 2011, so if the an applicant doesn't receive a visa by March 2011 end, he/she cannot expect to be granted a Tier 1 (General) leave to enter (visa).
