Maintenance

Post by expertbuddy » Sat Dec 04, 2010 3:04 pm

Hi,

"You must have a minimum level of funds to score 10 points for your level of funds. If you do not score 10 points your application will be
refused. You must have £2,800 available funds for yourself plus £1,600 for each dependant accompanying you or intending to join you
in the United Kingdom within 12 months of your arrival in the United Kingdom. This money must be held in your personal bank account
for at least 3 months before the date of your application and not fall below the required amount at any time during that period. Refer to
the Tier 1 (General) Policy Guidance."

I am planning to apply Tier 1 this week and my wife is applying as dependent after one month.

For maintenance, do i need to show just £2,800 or £4,400 now?

I am confused now while filling up this form. Please let me know.

Thanks

you need to maintain 2800 + 1600[for each dependent] if you are planning to apply for you dependents before 12 months from ur visa valid from date

Thats not true. You need 2800+1600 if you have been in the UK for less than 12 months. The visa valid-from date is irrelevant.

In that case, can the funds be shown from my account and from my wife account as well.

I mean 2800 pounds from my account and 1800 from my wife account.

If yes, can i show more cash in my wife account for few days ( 10 sep -25 sep). In that period my account balance was low. But totally the amount, for that few days it makes up 4400 pounds.

Is that ok?

Thanks
