I'm in UK on Tier1 - want to bring wife & child (dependa

Post by leeboydxb » Sat Dec 11, 2010 6:53 pm

Hi,

I have just landed here in UK on 6th Dec 2010 on Tier1 General Migrant visa, which I applied and got back in Aug 2009.

I haven't yet secured a job, and currently staying in a roomshare.

I wish to apply to bring my wife and 1 yr old daughter to UK now so that they can join me in UK immediately after I find a suitable job.

I have the required maintenance funds GBP 800 (for myself since I am less than 12 months in UK) + GBP 1200x2 for each dependant (wife and daughter) held in fixed deposit in India since July 2010.

Please assist with the following queries:
1) Can I apply for their visas from UK or does my wife have to apply for herself and our daughter from India?
2) Do I have to wait till I secure a job, to show income for the past 3/6 months, employment proof, proof of residence etc or can I start applying for their visas now itself?
3) Are there any other requirements, other than proof of maintenance funds for past 3 months, proof of relationship with dependants, original passports (mine, wife, child's) etc?
4) Does the monthly quota limit on Tier1 visas apply also to dependants submitting applications?
5) Is the English language requirement applicable to my wife?

Appreciate all your replies as I want to initiate applying for their visas asap so they can join me soonest.

Thanks in advance,

LG

They must apply from India.
