RU-UK-GER study/work Q

Sorry about stupid title - my real Q wouldn't fit...

Basically:

GF is russian.

She's in UK now living with me UK citizen (Irish grandparents, might be useful) studying Eng lang (which is so good they cannot teach her) and German (not so good yet!)

As part of her Degree she is required to live and work in Germany for a year - year three of her four year course.

UK uni has arranged her a job and somewhere to live in Hamburg.

But the uni, used to visa nationals havent thought about her visa reqs, so it's down to us. what does she need to work and live in GER for a year, with a job arranged etc...

I know as my EU family member if I exercise my treaty right which I could do if I used my Irish parentage it would be easier but to be honest, I dunno!
