Got EC

Post by Papafaith » Fri Jun 18, 2004 9:33 am

Praise the Lord, i was granted EC last monday in Abuja for my entire family except my domestic worker.
I was only asked how much i would be carrying to the UK, where i work, what is my prfession, is that the job i intend to pursue in the UK, where is my final destination and employment offer yet? After which i was asked to return to collect the Visas in three hours.
I included in the application
1. A cover letter
2. Original of HSMP letter
3. All the documentation i sent to Home office
4. documentation of landed properties
4. documentation of car ownership
4. VAF1 forms for me and my dependents
5. Bank statement contianing GBP2000.00
4. Travel documents and photocopies
5. Invitation letter from host
6. Mortgage documents of host
7. Job interviews i have had on phone
8. Travel plans.

My visa starts ticking June 30th. I will be traveling in July, an employer is waiting for mi in Hampshire.
"NIGERIANS SHOULD NOT USE OUR POSTAL SYSTEM AS CONTACT"

a GUY WORKING IN Shell who was suprised i got mine so fast even though i applied long after him contacted home office and was told his case was approved long ago and letter and documents sent to his Nigeria address. It has definitely been stolen. He is trying to contact the embassy, apparently the 3months given to file for EC has elasped.
I contrained home office not to send mine to Nigeria and they granted me that waiver.

Kaya, Chess and all contributors on this message board, i say a big thank you, God bless you all. I promise not to abandon the board when i arrive the UK.

hi Papafaith,
Congrats on your EC. Hope lady luck accompanies you all the way to UK.

Would be glad if you can share reasons on why you were not able to take your domestic worker with you.

Mini, they said HSMP doesnot cover domestic worker, and if i filed exclisively for a domestic worker visa, it would not be granted for i need to first enteer the UK and settle down.

I am so happy for U. Congrats once again. I am truely glad to see that a Nigeria has made it. All the best in the Uk and hope to join U soon.

By the way 1) did U family follow U to Abuja for the entry clearance and
2) I sent a letter with my application for my documents and latter top be returned to a cousin in England. Do U think I have to rewrite them to remind them of this.

thanks and goodluck in your preparations.

guest, thanks.
1. I went with my family to Abuja, though i was the only one interviewed, dont take chances.
2. If you leave in Lagos or west you will be asked to go to the embassy in Lagos.
3. You will need to first book an appointment.
4. You dont have to remind them, they will send you an email when they are through with ur apps.

I wish you the best in yoour HSMP.
