Yes, I booked private. Just told them I got the approval letter. Actually i haven't seen the letter in person rather my wife told the letter details. I guess as long as your council have received your naturalization certificate, they would accept your booking.

Hi there,
Congrats,
My NCS told me it takes 4 months and your case appears to be like that. Other peoples applications seems to be processed in about 6-8 weeks? What caused delay? Did they talked to your referees? etc?

passport application

Post by Sandieo » Wed Dec 29, 2010 1:13 pm

Following my last post, stating that I had submitted my passport application via the check and send service, I e-mailed the IPS customer service team to enquire whether my application had been received, they have confirmed that the application was processed on the 23rd dec and a letter was being put in the post today, inviting me for interview. They have advised me to contact the adviceline in a weeks time if I havent received it. Can I ring them prior to receiving the letter to book my interview?

wp_to_tier1_168 and ICEbraker you managed to get private ceremony booked congrats..

my battle still continues i requested HOmeoffice to have my ceremoney in newham as they have freqent ceremonies but i submitted my application via hackney and i live in redbridge..

called both newham and hackney and they don't have me on their list..

homeoffice letter states that i should contact hackney council for my ceremoney..

i did called redbridge council too as they are my local council and they don't have me on list either..

what should i do please help?

1:keep calling all three to see where i am actually going for my cermoney
2:wait to get an invitation letter for public ceremoney
3:or to call HOmeoffice for a confirmation where they sent my invitation

cheers,
Lemon

Yes you can book an interview without the invitation letter, however you need the 'reference number' which is different from the C&S Barcode no. You can call the IPS contact centre and they will give you the reference no.

we submitted ours in february and still have heard nothing back, we would have been satisfied with a 4 month wait!

Did you sent thru NCS and did you contact HO. They normally decide within 6 months?

Just curious: how much more frequent ceremonies are in newham in comparison to your council? And how do you know about it?
Personally, I wouldn't change my local council for the sake of waiting 1-2 weeks shorter, but as it has occured ceremonies in my council are on weekly basis anyway.
