Application for T1G in-country on 5 April 2011

Post by rizwan567 » Sat Dec 25, 2010 9:42 am

Tier 1 General is closing on 5th April 2011 within the UK.

My question is: If someone sends application by royal mail next day delivery on 5th April 2011 and UKBA receives it on 6 April 2011, will it be considered valid and in time application?

Your feedback will be highly appreciated.

Yes. The date of application will still be 5th April 2011. The question is, when the announcement says Tier 1 will close on 5th do they mean they would stop accepting applications at 00:01 hrs on 5th April? Check it UKBA website.

UKBA website notes:
ostal applications
If you apply by post, the date of postage (shown by the postmark) is used as the date of application. When our payment handling service receives your application, it retains the original envelope. If that envelope goes missing, or if the postmark is illegible, the date of postage is taken as at least one day before the date of receipt (which is the date when the payment handling service processed your application fee). If there is any uncertainty, you will be given the benefit of the doubt.
