Bank statement issue

Post by reggie_11 » Tue Dec 28, 2010 2:46 pm

here are a couple of issues, and these include

Through repeated calls I was convinced and adviced into opening two different accounts within the 28 day period...so my money moved from 1st reserve to Rewards Reserve A/C and then Cash ISA as I shouldnt be keeping that much of money in my previous a/c...somewhere my confusion and lack of understanding about the UK banking system is to blame here, least realising that this could later land me into a problem..

Visiting my My Bank (Natwest) regarding the bank statment, and even speaking to the Branch Manager apprising him of the UK Home Office requirement I was told that they CANNOT issue me a statement (my 28 days completes on 8th Jan 2011). As per some circular they have stopped doing so (signing and stamping statements) since the last 3 months.

I am really worried now as to how to go about this bank statement issue.

I have internet banking, the fact the money was shifted from one a/c to the other and back. A print out of those statements looks really confusing, eventhough more than the stipulated amount has been/is there in my a/c (now in 2 accounts)

My question to the group is how should I proceed from this deadlock (I am stuck because of this one document) and my visa expires on the 30th Jan, hence worried.

Will issue of holding money in 2 different a/cs pose a problem?

Do UK Home office in the recent past have been known to accept printouts of online statements?

Any reply/suggestion/experience sharing would be highly appreciated

You should give him written request and ask them, if they cannot give you bank statement, give you a letter of refusal that they cannot give you bank statement and refer to law/circular. Get something in writing.

Also, ask them if they cannot give you bank statment, provide a letter about funds availability and confirm that those funds are in account from last consecutive 28 days but they cannot issue bank statement under some law.

You have to get a document, if you know or using a lawyer, ask them to write a letter to that bank on your behlaf, otherwise be ready to get your visa extension refused!

My advice is for guidance only, if you want the law then consult a lawyer!**********************************************************

HO do not accept online statements if they are not stamped and signed by the authorsied person. You can ask them to write a letter addressing to the HO and confirming that you hold an a/c with them and you have maintened balance of £xxx for 28 consecutive days.
Letter must be written on the bank letter head with your full name, complete address and a/c number clearly visible and signed by the authorsied person.
